ASA/UKCC Level 2 Teaching Aquatics (QCF), To work on your own without supervision (other than lifeguarding cover) you will be required to hold an ASA Level 2 Certificate. The ASA Level 2 Certificate will provide and equip you, with the skills, knowledge, tools and techniques to effectively plan, prepare, deliver, monitor and evaluate teaching sessions.

The ASA UKCC Level 2 Certificate in Teaching Aquatics comprises of eight (8) units (see Figure 1). Units 201 – 204 are common units which are generic across all Level 2 Aquatic Awards, Units 205 – 208 are more focused on the technical aspects of the discipline and its delivery, therefore Units 205 – 208 for this qualification are focused on the technical application of teaching aquatics.
Each unit has specific learner outcomes and assessment criteria which must be followed and met in order to achieve successful completion of a unit. Learners are required to plan, prepare, deliver and evaluate a minimum of six (6) teaching sessions. Four of which (4) must be linked and progressive with the same participants. Assessed sessions must take place for a minimum duration of 30 minutes.
In order to be eligible for certification of the ASA UKCC Level 2 Certificate in Teaching Aquatics qualification all units must be successfully achieved.
